We've Moved...and other stuff

I realize it's been months since my last post, but life has been busy. Both boys are in preschool, we bought a new house, moved, rented out the old house, Kelly has been traveling and then we had Chase's birthday, my birthday, Halloween, Nana's visit, the boys' joint birthday party, Callan's birthday, Thanksgiving and now I've come up for air. But only for a minute.

The biggest news is that we bought a new house. We had been looking for about a year. On a sunny day in August we went for a drive to look at houses with our agent. We had made a couple of offers over the spring and summer...but we pulled out of both deals. One house was a total dive upon inspection & the second just didn't feel right. With summer coming to a close we were starting to think we would have to settle or wait until spring when the market was hot again. We were actually arguing about this in the car when we drove by a tall with cedar shingles. It wasn't on my list. It wasn't on the agent's list. But Kelly basically threw a tantrum and insisted we go inside. The ad stated it had less square footage than we needed and I just wasn't impressed with the photos online. But then we stepped inside. Within 5 minutes we were certain this was our house. Within 20 minutes we had made an offer.

It is perfectly "us", which we thought we'd never find. Plus there was an entire finished attic (which now holds the playroom, my office & Kelly's office) that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the ad. We closed in about 25 days and moved in on September 25th. It didn't take long for it to start feeling like "home." The boys missed the little green house for a long time. But once they got used to all of the space and the big back yard they decided they want to stay here forever.
